The Octo Finissimo represents one of the most significant chapters in modern Bvlgari watchmaking, combining the design language of the genta creation, reimagined throught the roman maison canons, with the technical expertise of Swiss haute horlogerie. Characterised by its architectural geometry and exceptionally slim construction, the collection has played a central role in redefining the contemporary ultra-thin wristwatch, winning multiple record in the meantime.
Introduced in 2017, the Octo Finissimo Automatic established a new benchmark for automatic watchmaking. At the time of its presentation, it became the thinnest self-winding watch in production, confirming Bvlgari’s growing reputation for technical innovation and earning the Men’s Watch Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.
The reference BGO40TXT is distinguished by its 40 mm multifaceted case, whose octagonal structure combines multiple angles, surfaces and levels. Despite its complex architecture, the watch maintains an extremely slender profile, creating a distinctive contrast between visual strength and physical lightness.
The use of sandblasted titanium extends across the case, dial and integrated bracelet, giving the model its characteristic monochromatic appearance. The matte finish emphasises the purity of the design while reducing the visual weight of the watch, allowing its geometric construction to remain the principal decorative element.
At its heart is the automatic BVL 138 calibre, an ultra-thin mechanical movement equipped with a platinum micro-rotor, enabling such a compact oscillating system while maintaining excellent performance. Its refined architecture allows the movement to achieve a remarkably reduced thickness while providing an extended power reserve and displaying the small seconds through an off-centred counter.
Through its radical proportions, technical refinement and unmistakable design, the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo BGO40TXT has become one of the defining luxury sports watches of the twenty-first century and a contemporary icon within the Maison’s watchmaking production.
