H. Moser & Cie. is an independent watch manufacturer based in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, established in 2005. However, the brand's origins trace back to 1828, when Swiss watchmaker Heinrich Moser founded the original H. Moser & Cie. in St. Petersburg, Russia. The company flourished for several decades but eventually ceased operations after Moser's death in 1874. The reborn H. Moser & Cie. is known for blending traditional Swiss craftsmanship with a modern—and at times even rebellious—design language. Few models capture this spirit better than the Endeavour Perpetual Calendar. The Endeavour collection represents Moser's most classic, elegant, and refined line. Yet despite its traditional appearance, the way this variation presents the perpetual calendar complication is distinctly modern and refreshingly unconventional. Staying true to the brand's 'less is more' philosophy, Moser has reimagined the complication with striking minimalism. The watch features three centrally mounted hands: the hour and minute hands, as expected, and a third—a short, arrow-shaped hand that functions as a month indicator, cleverly using the twelve hour markers to represent the twelve months of the year. In keeping with traditional watchmaking, the second hand is relocated from the center to a small subdial at 6 o'clock. At 9 o'clock, a power reserve indicator provides a practical reminder to wind the watch—particularly helpful, as this is a manually wound movement. At 3 o'clock, a bold date displayed in a large aperture ensures excellent legibility. Turning the watch over, the sapphire caseback reveals the beautifully finished HMC 341 movement. Subtly tucked within the gear train is a finely decorated wheel serving as the leap year indicator, which can be easily adjusted via a discreet corrector on the left side of the case. Notably, the shape of the caseback aperture isn't flat like 99% of wristwatches—it's gently curved, echoing the natural contour of the wrist and reinforcing Moser's signature fluid, sculpted design language, reflected also in the general curves of the case. It's a subtle but thoughtful detail that enhances both comfort and visual harmony. The dial is equally stunning, rendered in Moser's signature 'Funky Blue' fumé. It displays a rich gradient that seamlessly transitions from deep, dark edges to a vibrant, lighter center—enhanced by an exquisite sunburst finish that shimmers beautifully in the light.
