Description

Patek Philippe 2540 Serpico Y Laino Caracas

Serpico Y Laino was founded in the first half of the 20th century in Caracas by two Italians: Leopoldo Serpico and Vicente Laino. In the years to come it would become one of the reference points throughout Venezuela for brands such as Patek Philippe and Rolex, producing highly desirable collectors' items. The unusual reference 2540 was produced from 1954 to around 1960 and was among the first to be powered by the calibre 12-600 AT, a manual movement with automatic winding. The watch presented here is a Patek Philippe 2540 in 18kt yellow gold with a 32x32mm 'Chocolatone' case, personalised for Serpico Y Laino, a well-known dealer in Caracas, one of the most prized signatures in the history of watchmaking by collectors.
