The Gondolo collection takes its name from Gondolo & Labouriau, the celebrated Rio de Janeiro retailer for which Patek Philippe produced an exclusive series of watches between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Its modern interpretations are characterised by shaped cases and bold geometrical forms inspired by the elegant lines of the Art Deco period.

Reference 4981G, known as the "Gondolo Gemma", represents one of the most distinctive interpretations of the collection. Crafted in 18K white gold, its sculptural case and curved crystal create a seamless architectural profile, while the entire front of the watch—including the bezel, lugs and crown—is lavishly adorned with factory-set diamonds. The result is a refined fusion of haute horlogerie and high jewellery, giving the watch a bold yet unmistakably elegant identity.
